Deuteronomy 1:30-32
The Lord your God who goes before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Eygpt befoe your eyes; and in the wilderness, where thou has seen how the the LORD they God bare thee, as a man doeth bear his son, Yet, in this thing, you did not believe the LORD your God.

Psalm 62:1,2,5-7
My soul finds rest in God alone, my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. Psalm 41:9

Psalm 55:-8, 12-14
My heart is in anguish within me, the terrors of death assail me. Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me. I said, "Oh, that I had the wings of a doe? I would fly away and be at rest." I would flee far away and stay in the desert; I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm. Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.

There is no place we have been more deeply hurt than the root of our distrust.

Distrust manifests itself in two primary was:
A persistenly ailing heart
A spewing mind

True or False
Deep down inside I don't trust anybody.

Who Will You Trust/Part One

Isaiah 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.

Deuteronomy 1:28-31 Where can we go? Our brothers have made us lose heart. They say, "The people are stronger and taller than we are; the cities are large, with walls up to the sky. We even saw the Anakites there." Then I said to you, "Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place."

Deuteronomy 1:32 Yet in THIS THING you do not believe the LORD your God.

New Testament faith - we do with our mind.
Old Testament faith - engages the heart

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

DISTRUST manifests itself in two primary ways:
1. A persistently ailing heart
2. A spewing mind

Psalm 112: 1, 7-8 Praise the Lord. He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure, he will have no fear, in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.

Psalm 115:9-11 O house of Israel, trust in the Lord - he is their help and shield. O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord - he is their help and shield. You who fear him, trust in the Lord, he is their help and shield.

Ephesians 6:16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which YOU CAN extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
